Carrots and... More Cakes

I took a small detour one day and decided to try a few carrots.  I particularly love the green and orange combination--it makes for a wonderfully bright, scrumptiously crunchy, and healthy springtime snack!

 

 And of course I have some new cakes to share!  These charlotte cakes are a "new thing" for me, and I really have fun putting my imagination to work while creating them.  So here's to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Cold... but Sunny!

It is really chilly outside, but all the same it is so sunny! I am impatiently waiting for our leaves to turn colors... although the majority of our leaves transform into a plain brown shade. (The neighbors' large, crimson tree across the street puts our tree to shame!) Despite the blisters and splinters that I receive from raking, I will never stop loving autumn!

So here's a little carrot cake to warm up your day... or at least mine! I am craving something sweet at this moment.

For the past two days I have been working very hard on new little miniatures. It is such a wonderful feeling to work with my gooey clay like good old days!

Cake Time

Lately I have been working on many new cakes, some of which include carrot cake, chocolate-cherry cake, chocolate-raspberry cake, various rose cakes, and any type of cake that might come to mind. My sweet tooth is dominating my imagination right now!

The Fourth of July has sparked some new ideas for miniatures as well. I have created a red, white, and blue cake, topped with thick, creamy white icing, sliced strawberries, and delicate blueberries.

In addition to making cakes, I have been busy making new bread of all shapes, sizes, and colors! Bread is so much fun to make because you can make it just about any which way, simple or extravagant.
