Spider Web Cake

This spider web cake was the second part of my mom's Christmas present this past December.

You see, there was once a minute spider that spun his web on a two-layer orange cake. On the night of October 31st, a dainty white ghost appeared and gobbled the spider quite contentedly. After digesting his meal, the ghost attempted to exit from the scene of the crime. However he soon discovered that he was securely fastened and restrained by the sticky spider web.

Pumpkins!

It was great to be selling my miniatures again at a craft show! Yesterday was very successful and way too much fun. Today I have returned to making minis like crazy as I try to rebuild my stock for my next show on November 6th. I have a very, very busy two weeks ahead of me before the next show.

I have also discovered a love of making pumpkins. It's so fun to make different shapes and sizes. Here is a rustic hand-painted board with eight cute pumpkins... a few of my leaves are scattered in between. Somehow I wish this season came around more often just as an excuse to make more pumpkins... and because I love roasted pumpkin seeds!

Slacking Off

It has been a few days since I have made my miniatures. I've been quite the slacker!

However, I finally made my own charlotte cake (pictured to the right). Rich chocolate sauce and chocolate shreds are surrounded by six juicy, vibrant strawberries. I LOVE chocolate and strawberries, together or by themselves.

This past weekend, my mom and I went to a Renaissance festival. I have always wanted to go. It was loads of fun! Keep me away from all the jewelry-- it is so, so tempting! One of my favorite parts was the jousting tournament. Even though it was a very chilly weekend, it was great!

Our swimming pool closed for the year on Monday. This marks the official end of my summer. But since I will not be swimming again until summer 2011, I have more time to dedicate to my crafts.

Life stays busy!
