Easter Feast

Happy Easter, everyone! I always look forward to Easter every single year-- it's always a happy and joyful day, even if the sky is gray!

I would like to share some happiness with you during this Easter season by posting some photos of my simple Easter feast. I've been working on this scene on and off for the past few weeks, and I was actually pleased with the way everything turned out.

I also made it a point to complete the minis in time for Easter! You see, I procrastinate when it comes to holiday items. :)

So please enjoy your Easter this year. There's always reason to smile!

An eye level shot of the meal.

Just some toasty baguettes to go along with our Easter this year. :)

Ham! Yes, we have it every Easter, but I do not particularly love it.

A close-up of a loose bun.

A basket of hot cross buns without currants. Looks like some cheerful eggs made their way into the basket as well!

Three hot cross buns with currants.

Delicious and colorful Easter bread.

An aerial shot.

The penny shows how exactly mini these minis really are.

It's always an Easter tradition on the Polish side of my family to have paska bread for Easter. Of course I couldn't help but try to make it in miniature! You can see a cross on top of the paska bread as well. Not too shockingly awful for a first try.

Rest in Peace, Sweet Aubrey

We took our beautiful little pet parakeet, J. Aubrey, to the vet on Saturday, and we were told that he had a tumor. On Monday evening, sweet little Aubrey passed away.. he's at peace now.

We bought Aubrey on August 19, 2005 after our first parakeet, Petie, passed away. As some of you might already know, I started my miniature business not very long after Petie's death, so I named it in her memory.

For nearly six years, Aubrey lived in a home full of love. He was a very healthy, active, sweet, and charming budgie, always tweeting and chirping to us. He filled our house with so much sunshine. I had forgotten what losing a pet felt like... but now I feel it all over again. He was the sweetest little bird alive, and I will never ever forget him. He was more than a bird, he was a best friend. Love and miss you always, little Aubrey..

Colors of the Rainbow

Sunday was absolutely beautiful outside-- the sun was shining and it was in the 70s! Things quickly changed however, and now we're back to plenty of rain and cloudy skies. That means it's time to cheer ourselves up with a slice (or two) of rainbow cake!

6 layers of brightly colored cake is topped with rich vanilla icing and rainbow sprinkles. Makes me think of spring!

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple are all accounted for in this unique cake.

Cheese Pizza

Who doesn't like (or love) cheese pizza? It is quite popular at craft shows, so I try to make sure that pizza is always in stock! Please feel free to have a slice while you're here..
